Welcome to the home of the JY Barracudas!

The Jennersville, Pennsylvania YMCA Swim Team provides an opportunity for children to enjoy competitive swimming in a safe, fun, and friendly atmosphere. The Barracudas Swim Team competes in the Southern Chester County Swim League against other YMCAs and local swim clubs.

Philosophy of YMCA Competitive Swimming

The YMCA supports a swimming program that gives each individual an experience in competitive swimming.  Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are strongly emphasized in practice, meets and all team activities.  Our goal is to teach these core values and to promote the well-being of each individual through fair competition, individual goal setting and by keeping swimming in perspective.  Sport in the YMCA has never been an end to itself but an avenue for participants to pursue physical activity while learning important life skills.  The YMCA emphasizes broad participation for all levels of swimmers.

Our vision is to emphasize a well-rounded competitive swimming program.  A program promoting the physical and social benefits of swimming.

Every athlete counts and our team strength comes from raising the standards of all team members.  The coaching staff encourages the development of the swimmer in and out of the water by offering character building programs in conjunction with the sport of swimming.  Our desire is to develop lifelong swimmers who maintain a love for team work, sportsmanship and competition.

Every member of the JY Barracudas Swim Team is expected to follow the code of conduct in accordance with the YMCA of the Brandywine Valley.  Our desire is to promote well rounded individuals who participate actively in their swim team, local YMCA’s and community.
